The competition consisted of 2 parts. The first was to announce the launch of MyCarrier where users who created an account got entered into a draw to win the main prize of an all expenses paid 7 day holiday to the One&Only The Palm in Dubai and the One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives. The competition was initially announced to Carrier’s existing customer based and they were encouraged to share the competition with their friends through a referral url, which would gain them an extra 5 entries to win the main prize.
The second part of the Guest List competition had the aim of increasing their customer’s awareness of their destinations and hotels. To do this Carrier ran a week long Hidden Prizes competition where every 24 hours for 7 days a new prize would be hidden somewhere on the Carrier site. Members on the Guest List would receive an email each lunchtime with a cryptic clue about where the day’s prize is hidden. Once found, the user is added to the prize pot, but if someone not on the Guest List discovers the prize then they are shown a message saying
“Sorry you’re not on the Carrier Guest List”
Winners of each prize were announced within 30 minutes of the hidden prize being removed and the next one being added resulting in people being on the site browsing while waiting for the new prize. The prizes included
- 2 nights at The Trump International in New York
- Meals at top London restaurants
- 3 nights at the Le Touessrok in Mauritius
- Nights in luxury london hotels
- 2 Safari holidays in South Africa
