Leeds Bradford Airport

A Twitter app for an International airport

We have partnered with Leeds Bradford International Airport to develop a tool which enhances the customer experience using social media on mobile

The airport required an app which enabled passengers to access vital information which improved their knowledge and confidence with airport processes.

Our solution allows Leeds Bradford Airport to communicate directly with Twitter followers using real-time capabilities. The app works by followers sending a direct message to @LBIAirport with the word ‘flight’ followed by their flight number. Direct messages are then sent in reply to the passenger containing live updates as soon as they appear in the data feed – the same feed that shows on the arrival and departure boards.

Leeds Bradford Mobile

The information is continuously sent out until the aircraft has departed or landed, ensuring passengers, as well as those wishing to collect arrival passengers are kept up to date on request.

The app ensures a more personalised experience as well as accurate and relevant updates across all mobile devices.

The Results

Leeds Bradford were really pleased with the project outcome and the app is currently being used by thousands of passengers travelling through the airport
