Social Networks
Ever since the explosion of social networking sites and blogging, we have been active in positioning ourselves as leaders in the field of Social Media Marketing.
KMP was one of the first digital agencies to embrace the social media challenges and we are still excited by the many interesting marketing opportunities that Social Networks provide.
We have been running community sites, forums and message boards driven by user generated content since the late 1990's so when the blogging phenomenon took off in 2004/5 we were well placed to offer advice.
We now provide blogging technology platforms and design advice as well as on line buzz monitoring and sentiment analysis for clients such as Littlewoods Shop Direct, Cooperative Financial Services, Nationwide, SSL, and British Gas.
Last December we built a KMP Festive Snowball Fight facebook application which proved to be extremely popular amongst our contacts and another facebook application for Littlewoods Shop Direct, which allowed users to browse through fashion items, rate them and send them to a friend. This application was also part of a competition where users collected points which gave them a chance to win £500 of shopping.
KMP built Chester Zoo's new website using the Sitecore's CMS. As one of the main activities of visitors to the zoo is taking photos, we set up a user group to allow visitors to upload photos on the site and comment on their photos. We integrated the website with the Flickr API so that the group was held on Flickr but the upload was moderated through the Sitecore CMS. Every photo was also tagged with the watermark "ChesterZoo.org" which meant that when the photos were viewed via the Flickr site, links are promoted back to the Chester Zoo site. If you type in Chester Zoo into the flickr site search you will get over 20,000 items each item normally supporting between 20 and 200 conversations.
Last month we launched our new Social Media Release template - a tool which allows companies and PR agencies to syndicate multimedia news releases around the internet using search and semantic optimised news items, RSS feeds, news aggregators and social networks.
