The power of sharing

Hot off the back of our recent seminars, I was notified by Slideshare on Monday that my presentation (from said seminars) had been added as a favourite by someone.

I had in fact forgotten that the presentation was even on slideshare until I received the notification. So, I had a quick look only to find that in just a week, 98 people had viewed it and 3 people had downloaded it (one of whom had embedded it on their own site as below).

Then, I received a further notification that my presentation was one of the four homepage featured presentations for PR 2.0!

4 days later, the presentation has had 1,912 views, been downloaded 116 times and has been embedded into websites by 10 people – and all this after the keyote to powerpoint conversion process made some of the slides look terrible. Then again as “they” say – content is king!

Here it is:

To relate this post very loosely to the title ;-) what has been interesting is just how much traffic and interest the publication of this presentation has brought me personally as well as KMP.

So I gave away for free a presentation that many, many people paid a good sum of money to see and hear, but the number of people seeing it now (and spreading the word) has far outweighed the number of people who saw it first hand.

Of the say, 200 people who saw me present it, 10 TIMES MORE people are now aware of me, us and what we do – I’d take that any day.
