Last Tuesday we held a seminar on the topic of Marketing 2.0 in Manchester, where we discussed the impact of social media on marketing strategy and public relations, as well as using a well-known case study (LG) to demonstrate how effective it can be.
We had a great line up of speakers for this, including KMP’s Chairman, Bill Daring, Neville Hobson (ABC), Ronnie Brown (Outside Line) and KMP’s award- nominated blogger, Paul Fabretti.
It was great to have some new names speaking for us, and both Neville and Ronnie’s presentations were very well received. Following Bill’s keynote on the subject of Marketing 2.0, Neville stepped up to discuss how social media is changing the landscape of public relations. Possibly the highlight of Neville’s presentation was one of his penultimate slides on the “8 Rules of Social Engagement,” – an 8 step guide on how to approach social media.
Ronnie Brown from Outside Line presented an excellent blogger relations case study on LG, which they developed when promoting the Viewty mobile phone. Having an inside view on such a well recognised brand really helped everyone to put into perspective the importance of social media to a marketing strategy.
We will be running this seminar in London on the 30th September. Book early to avoid disappointment!
